This is an annual event here at Chaparral where the students participate in various age-appropriate stations that will provide them an avenue to explore the world of individuals who, in their day-to-day lives, live with physical and/or developmental challenges. This program helps participants to feel more comfortable around people with disabilities and, in turn, teaches the students about tolerance, comfort zones, and inclusion, as well as give them the opportunity to change how one views a person or child with a disability.
This year’s event will take place on Tuesday, February 7th! We are always looking for volunteers to help setup and run the various stations throughout the day and week. If you are interested in being a part of the Ability Awareness Committee, please contact Cara Giovani.
