This is an annual event here at Chaparral where the students (1st-5th grade) participate in various age-appropriate stations that will provide them an avenue to explore the world of individuals who, in their day-to-day lives, live with physical and/or developmental challenges. This program helps participants to feel more comfortable around people with disabilities and, in turn, teaches the students about tolerance, comfort zones, and inclusion, as well as give them the opportunity to change how one views a person or child with a disability.
This year’s event will take place on Monday, February 8th through Thursday, February 11th. We are always looking for volunteers to help setup and run the various stations throughout the day and week, however due to Covid-19 this year, the students will be able to access these lessons online.
