FAMILY FUN EVENTS

Free Fun For the Whole Family

Family Fun Nights are free PTA sponsored activities throughout the school year for Chaparral families to spend time together and do something fun! Many parent volunteers are needed to put these events together. If you are interested in being a part of the Family Fun Committee, please contact our chairperson, Elizabeth Oyster for details.

Here are some of the FUN events we have planned for the 2023/2024 school year:

Donuts with Grown Ups

Family Movie Night

Bingo Night

Literacy Night

Bagels with Buddies

Follies Talent Show

ART

Art Masters for All Students

The Art Masters Program is a PTA funded art program where the students are introduced to a new artist and their techniques. Once a month the students attend an art history assembly where they learn about an artist’s life and artistic techniques. The students participate in an age-appropriate art project in their classroom shortly following the assembly. Art Masters is a wonderful PTA sponsored program that teaches art history, art techniques, builds students confidence, and is lots of fun for everyone!

ABILITY AWARENESS

Seasonal fun for your kids

This is an annual event here at Chaparral where the students participate in various age-appropriate stations that will provide them an avenue to explore the world of individuals who, in their day-to-day lives, live with physical and/or developmental challenges. This program helps participants to feel more comfortable around people with disabilities and, in turn, teaches the students about tolerance, comfort zones, and inclusion, as well as give them the opportunity to change how one views a person or child with a disability.

This year’s event will take place on Tuesday, February 6th! We are always looking for volunteers to help setup and run the various stations throughout the day and week. If you are interested in being a part of the Ability Awareness Committee, please contact Cara Giovani.
